Orbit TV publishes independent reviews of streaming services, smart TV boxes, soundbars and free-to-air receivers. We buy or borrow the hardware we test, log buffering on South African fibre lines, and note data use per hour. Nothing here is a sales channel for the brands we cover.
Use the guides for your own household decisions. Do not scrape the comparison tables, republish full reviews, or present our test results as your own. If you send us a device to test, you confirm you own it or have permission to lend it, and you accept that we may photograph and describe it.
Results depend on your line speed, router, antenna and firmware version. A decoder that worked in our Johannesburg setup may behave differently on a coastal line or after a manufacturer update. We describe what we measured, not what you will necessarily get. Subscription prices and channel line-ups change without notice, so verify details with the provider before you commit.
We are not liable for decisions made from our write-ups, for service outages, for load shedding damage, or for data costs you incur while following a setup guide. Where the law does not allow a full exclusion, our responsibility is limited to correcting or removing the content in question.
We may remove pages, close comments or block access if someone misuses the site, harasses our testers, or tries to submit misleading device information. You may stop using the site at any time. Sections on liability and content ownership survive that.
